Reggia di Venaria Reale, a historic place for a music that has an age-old taste: the tango of Gotan Project.
I arrive at 18.00 just in time for the sound check. The frequencies make up songs and the atmosphere warms up. Philippe Cohen Solal, the heart of the band together with Eduardo Marakoff and Gustavo Beytelmann – who I already met in Paris in February crammed between thousands of vinyl – tell me that the tour and their new album Tango 3.0, released also on vinyl, are going well.
I’m very curious about this new show… They tell me that all the set designs are new and the visuals too.
My heart is already beating to the rhythm of their new track that echoes the voice of the Argentinian writer Julio Cortzázar and has enchanted me from the word go, “Rayuela”.
The concert has begun, many people are sitting… behind and by the sides of the stage some couples can’t resist and start to tango. Turin is the European capital of Tango. It’s impossible to stay still!
